In the Na Jomtien area, a canal runs directly through the landscape and flows out to the sea. This type of canal functions as a drainage system, carrying water from inland communities and urban areas to the coast. Due to the low-lying coastal terrain, designing canals perpendicular to the beach helps reduce flooding. During high tide, seawater flows back into the canal, creating a view that looks as if the sea is cutting into the land—an unusual perspective that reflects both natural processes and urban water management.
