Khao Sapphaya is a sacred mountain that serves as the namesake of Sapphaya District, famously appearing in the Ramayana epic as the site where Hanuman retrieved the medicinal Sangkani Tree Chawa herbs to heal Phra Lak. The mountaintop features a grand stone sculpture of Hanuman and the Holy Water Cave, believed by locals to house miraculous water capable of curing ailments according to ancient beliefs. Ascending to the viewpoint via over 200 steps offers a panoramic vista of Chainats vast and picturesque rice fields. This site stands as a primary hub for spiritual faith and cultural heritage within the province.
