The Buddha in the Palilayaka attitude at Boon Nak Cave, Takhli District, Nakhon Sawan, is a large white stucco statue depicted sitting on a rock. His left hand rests palm down on his knee, while his right hand is placed palm up. The image is enshrined outdoors against a natural limestone cliff backdrop. According to Buddhist history, this posture represents the Buddha staying alone in the forest, attended by the Palilayaka elephant offering water and a monkey offering a honeycomb.
