The Ordination Hall

The Ordination Hall (Ubosot) of Wat Rat Sattha Kayaram stands out with its contemporary Mon-Buddhist art, seamlessly blending graceful stucco patterns with the solemnity of traditional Mon craftsmanship. A major highlight is the Group of Golden Mon-style Pagodas towering over a pristine white base, featuring golden bell-shaped spires adorned with colorful fabrics that represent the enduring faith of the Mon-Thai community in the Ban Phaeo area. Surrounding each pagoda are Buddha images enshrined within niches, allowing devotees to perform candlelight processions and pay respects amidst the peaceful atmosphere along the Damnoen Saduak Canal. Visiting these pagodas and "the ordination hall" is not only an act of merit-making for good fortune but also an opportunity to experience the living Mon cultural heritage that remains vibrant and beautiful within the riverside lifestyle of Samut Sakhon.
