Phra Phuttha Navarat is a Buddha image in the Maravijaya posture, crafted in the Chiang Saen style. King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great commissioned it to be presented to provincial governors throughout Thailand in celebration of the Bangkok Bicentennial. The base of each statue contains the King’s sacred hair and is adorned with the royal monogram.
