Wat Phra That Duang Diao, also known as Wat Phra That Klang Wiang, is an ancient temple located on a hill in Li District, Lamphun, believed to be the center of the ancient City of Li. Legend attributes its founding to Princess Jamari, who fled from Luang Prabang and established the city of Li, following a royal elephant guided by divine light to this location. The current stupa is a slender, angular, white chedi standing approximately 30 meters tall. Although most structures were restored by Kruba Srivichai and his disciples within the last 80–100 years, the temple remains on the original ancient site as a spiritual anchor for the people of Li.
