Phra Mahathat Chedi Sri Viang Chai is a colossal golden stupa, the largest in Lamphun Province and the grandest Myanmar-style pagoda (inspired by the Shwedagon Pagoda) in Thailand. It was built through the profound faith of Luang Pu Kruba Chaiya Wongsa Phattana and his Pga K’nyau (Karen) disciples as a monument dedicated to the five Buddhas of the present Bhadrakalpa. The stupa features a massive base 40 meters wide and stands 64.39 meters tall, serving as a spiritual anchor within the sacred grounds of Wat Phra Phutthabat Huay Tom.
