The Giant Tree of Ban Sanam

The Giant Tree, or locally known as the "Giant Siang Tree" (a species of Datisca family), stands majestically amidst an ancient betel nut grove in the Ban Sanam community. This tree is incredibly vast and beautiful, with a circumference that would require approximately 40 people joining hands to encircle. Its age is estimated to be over 400 years (with some believing it to be much older). The massive buttress roots that spread widely across the ground serve as a sturdy foundation and create intricate, artistic natural patterns. This site is more than a tourist attraction; it is a sacred space preserved by the community, reflecting the harmonious relationship between humans and the forest.
