The ancient stone buildings at Tha Rae were constructed using rectangular laterite blocks, plastered with a special mortar mixture made from rubber tree sap, sugarcane juice, and boiled animal hides, according to traditional Vietnamese craftsmanship. Originally, the roofs were French-style terracotta tiles, but now they are covered in vines and trees due to the passage of time.
