Originally built by Matsuzaki Tokujiro II for his sugar wholesale business, "Matsuzaki-ya," this structure survived the test of time. Today, it is a Tangible Cultural Property that bridges Kawagoe’s mercantile past as "Little Edo" with its vibrant modern-day identity.
