Wat Khao Rup Chang and the Golden Pagoda

Wat Khao Rup Chang is an ancient temple dating back to the Ayutthaya period, situated on a hill characterized by natural white rock formations resembling a crouching elephant. The hilltop landscape is dominated by a Lankan-style pagoda, recently restored and decorated with vibrant golden glazed tiles. The sacred grounds feature a spacious plateau offering 360-degree panoramic views of Phichit and Taphan Hin districts. Notable heritage sites include an original Ayutthaya-era squared pagoda with indented corners and a cruciform pavilion (Mondop) housing a bronze replica of the Buddha's footprint.
