The Golden Burmese Pagoda

The Golden Burmese Pagoda at Wat Sri Chum is a masterpiece of Burmese-Mon architecture in Lampang. It features a bell-shaped stupa inspired by the Shwedagon Pagoda, covered entirely in radiant "Thong Jangko" gold leaf. The structure sits on a multi-tiered, indented square base decorated with refined stucco work. The summit is adorned with a tiered golden umbrella (Hti), reflecting the sophisticated craftsmanship of Mandalay artisans. Enshrining holy relics brought from Myanmar, the pagoda represents the prosperity of Burmese teak merchants and their enduring spiritual legacy.
