Phra Phuttha Sikkhee Patimakorn / The Black Stone Buddha

Phra Phuttha Sikkhee Patimakorn, also known as the First Phra Phuttha Sikkhee or the Black Stone Buddha, is an ancient Tavaravadi-Lavo style Buddha image carved from black stone. History records that Queen Jamadevi brought this image from Lavo along with Phra Rod Luang (the Second Phra Phuttha Sikkhee) during the founding of the Hariphunchai Kingdom. This image was considered the Queen's "Personal Guardian Buddha," used in significant royal ceremonies and for divine intercession for the kingdom's prosperity. It features a seated Buddha in the full lotus position on a lotus pedestal, sheltered by a Bodhi tree arch, serving as the evolutionary prototype for the renowned Phra Rod Mahawan amulets.
