Ho Tham and Ancient Manuscripts of Wat Phra Luang

The Ho Tham (Scripture Library) of Wat Phra Luang That Noeng is a stunning wooden structure blending local Lanna and Rattanakosin styles, featuring a gable-hipped roof decorated with delicate wood fretwork. This library preserves ancient palm-leaf manuscripts and Phap Sa (mulberry paper books) dating back centuries. In 2023, a significant "Tham Cleaning" ceremony was held for the first time in over 100 years to categorize and restore these manuscripts, revealing records of religious teachings, traditional medicine, and historical events. Additionally, the temple grounds house a Museum of Ancient Talismans, showcasing rare traditional yantra shirts and antique artifacts.
