The Thai So, or Kaso, people originally hailed from Mahachai City, Khammouan Province, Laos, before migrating across the Mekong River to settle in Thailand during the reign of King Rama III. Their main center was established in Kusumal District, Sakon Nakhon Province. The Thai So Museum showcases the history of their village establishment, their agricultural lifestyle, and their unique beliefs in ancestral spirits.
