History Luang Phor Pui

Luang Phor Pui is the principal Buddha image in the "Heaven-Built" Ubosot, showcasing early Sukhothai artistic style. The statue is characterized by an oval face, a pointed chin, and a unique triangular "Ruen Kaew" (crystal halo) decorated with Kanok and Makara motifs. The image measures 1.65 meters in lap width and stands 2.27 meters tall including the base. It is a rare and magnificent example of Buddhist art, blending the influence of Phra Phuttha Chinnarat with local craftsmanship.
