Thai art blended with European elements.

This artistic style emerged when Siam opened diplomatic relations with the West, particularly France, leading to an architectural fusion often called Wilanda style. The most prominent feature is the use of pointed or rounded arches for doorways and windows, an influence derived from European Gothic and Renaissance art. Local materials like Thai bricks and mortar were used, but constructed with thick, load-bearing wall techniques based on Western engineering of that era. Clear examples include Chanthara Phisan Throne Hall and Phra Chao Hao Building, which feature Thai silhouettes integrated with international-style wall openings. This blended art reflects the modern vision of King Narai the Great, who successfully harmonized the brilliance of two worlds together.
