Togetsu-bashi: The Bridge of First Sight
Togetsu-bashi (Togetsu Bridge) is the first of the five "Bridges of Love" over the Katsura River. Its nickname, Misome-bashi, means "The Bridge of First Sight" (Love at first sight). It is the vermilion bridge located closest to the entrance of the village.
