"Sadej Tia" is the affectionate name used by naval personnel and devotees to refer to Admiral Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse, the Prince of Chumphon, revered as the "Father of the Royal Thai Navy" for modernizing and strengthening Thailand's naval foundations. As the 28th son of King Rama V, he possessed diverse talents in maritime navigation, traditional medicine (known as "Doctor Phon"), and supernatural arts, leading to his veneration as a deity of mercy and maritime protection. Faith in Sadej Tia remains deeply rooted in the hearts of the Thai people, evidenced by numerous shrines nationwide where followers pray for success, protection, and the strength to overcome all life's obstacles.
