The Giant Golden Guan Yin Statue

The crowning jewel of Fo Guang Shan Temple is the Great Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva (Guan Yin), a majestic 37-meter-tall golden statue standing prominently outdoors. Inside the hall, there are four distinct golden Guan Yin statues representing different blessings: Granting Wishes, Bestowing Wealth, Giving Prosperity, and Blessing with Children. The design features exquisite Taiwanese-Chinese craftsmanship, surrounded by hundreds of smaller Guan Yin figurines adorning the walls and lotus bases, enhancing its sacred beauty. Beyond being a site of deep faith, this area is the most popular photo spot, especially when captured from a distance against the stunning backdrop of the Taiwanese-style pavilions. Visitors often perform a traditional circumambulation, walking around the statues three times clockwise to pay respect and seek auspicious blessings for their lives.
