Hitogata Nagashi: Purifying with Paper Dolls
Hitogata Nagashi is a Shinto purification ritual where sins or illness are transferred to a "human-shaped paper doll". By rubbing the paper on your body and floating it down a river, the water carries away your impurities. It's a symbolic way to wash away bad luck and start fresh.
