Distinctive Srivijaya Architecture

The shrine features applied Srivijaya architecture, inspired by the iconic design of Wat Phra Borommathat Chaiya. The structure resembles a bell-shaped stupa, surrounded by four smaller stupas arranged in layered tiers.

Key architectural elements include:

• Naga stucco decorations at the base symbolizing protection
• Four-directional entrance (Chaturamukha pavilion) representing the city center
• Rahu swallowing the moon motif on the gable, believed to ward off misfortune

Inside the Shrine

The interior measures approximately 6 x 6 meters and houses the city pillar carved from sacred sandalwood, considered the spiritual core of the city and a symbol of stability and protection.
