“Although there is no beach to access on the island, the waters surrounding it are home to vibrant softcorals.”

Koh Ma is a small limestone island standing prominently in the middle of the Trang Sea. Its fame comes from its natural formation, which bears a striking resemblance to a horsehead emerging from the water—hence the name “Koh Ma.” The island is included in many One Day Trip routes along with nearby destinations such as KohChueak and EmeraldCave(Koh Muk), and is well-known as an excellent snorkeling(Snorkeling) spot.

The area surrounding Koh Ma and Koh Chueak is home to exceptionally rich coral reefs, especially softcoralsofDendronephthya species, which display vivid colors such as purple, red, and yellow. These corals are typically found in deeper waters, but around Koh Ma they can be seen easily at shallow depths. The area is also inhabited by sea anemones and various species of fish.

Because the island is composed of rocky cliffs, there is nobeach to land on. Tour boats anchor nearby, allowing visitors to snorkel and enjoy the underwater scenery directly from the boat.
