“Experience the miracle of a long white sandbar stretching into the emerald sea, along with the rare sight of jet-black volcanic rocks which are a unique feature of this island.”
Kham Island is a small private island located a short distance from Koh Mak in Province Trat. It is a place that still maintains its perfect natural purity. As soon as you arrive, you will be welcomed by sea water so clear that you can see the fish and coral reefs below. The beach sand here is clean, white, and as soft as powder. This makes Koh Kham a dream destination for travelers seeking true peace and privacy.
The most unique highlight that is hard to find elsewhere is the group of black volcanic rocks scattered along the beach and in the water. These rocks are deep black, contrasting sharply with the white sand and blue sea. This creates a strange and charming image that is specific to Koh Kham. These rocks tell the long geological history of the area and are a popular spot for tourists to sit and take photos to capture a one-of-a-kind memory.
The most popular activities on the island are kayaking and snorkeling to see the coral reefs around the island. You can easily find staghorn corals and colorful schools of fish right from the beach. Additionally, there is a white sandbar that appears during low tide, stretching out as a walkway in the middle of the sea. The atmosphere around the island is very quiet, with no entertainment venues or chaos only the sound of waves and sea breeze to help you fully relax.
For services on the island, there is a small welfare shop providing drinks and snacks, as well as clean toilets for convenience. Even though it is a small island, it is excellently maintained and clean, so there are no issues with trash or pollution. Visitors are often impressed by the clarity of the water, which is comparable to the seas in Southern Thailand or the Maldives. It is a perfect place to lie down, relax, and recharge your life energy.
If you are a photography lover or an artist looking for natural inspiration, Koh Kham is an excellent choice. The natural light reflecting off the turquoise water and black rocks will make your photos look charming and magical. Whether traveling with a partner, friends, or family, spending just a few hours on this island will become a precious memory of your trip to Trat.
