“Relax on pristine white sand beaches and walk along the signature wooden bridge while observing coral reefs and marine life directly through the transparent water without even getting wet”
Lao Ya Island is a small, secluded archipelago located south of Koh Chang, consisting of three islets: Lao Ya Nai, Lao Ya Klang, and Lao Ya Nok, connected by a unique wooden bridge and natural sandbars. This destination is recognized as a high-privacy sanctuary and is globally acclaimed as the Gem of the Eastern Gulf of Thailand due to its untouched, pristine landscape. Geographically, its crescent-shaped bay acts as a natural shield against monsoon winds, resulting in waters as clear as glass with a striking emerald hue that stands out among the other islands in the Koh Chang archipelago.
A key ecological highlight is the exceptionally healthy marine ecosystem. The beachfront serves as a habitat for various shallow-water corals, including staghorn and massive corals. Visitors can clearly see schools of sergeant major fish and clownfish swimming beneath the wooden bridge with the naked eye, reflecting the well-preserved natural wealth. Furthermore, the island is covered in lush tropical rainforests and coconut groves that prevent coastal erosion and provide a habitat for various seabirds, creating a perfect balance between the forest and the sea.
Tourism on Lao Ya Island focuses on Eco-Tourism with high privacy, as daily visitor numbers are limited. This allows guests to fully immerse themselves in the silence and the sound of the waves. A popular activity is kayaking to explore the ecological transition between Lao Ya Nai and Lao Ya Klang. During low tide, a fine white sandbar emerges, allowing visitors to walk between the islands an exciting and intimate encounter with nature. The air quality is superior, and the warm sea temperature makes snorkeling here a deeply relaxing experience.
For photographers and bloggers, Lao Ya Island is a world-class destination. The highlight is the aged wooden bridge stretching along the rocky shoreline and deep blue sea, providing beautiful leading lines for composition. For honeymooners, the silence and private atmosphere enhance the romantic vibe. Artists often use the island as a retreat to find inspiration from the shifting colors of the sea, from light blue in the morning to golden hues at sunset behind the Koh Chang mountains.
Experience the pinnacle of relaxation that perfectly combines natural beauty with absolute silence at Lao Ya Island a place that truly defines Heaven on Earth.
