“Lan Sang National Park offers lush nature, multi-tiered waterfalls including Lan Sang, Pha The, and Pha Lad, camping facilities, and tranquil surroundings ideal for relaxation and fresh air.”
Lan Sang National Park is located in Ban Lan Sang, Mae Tho Subdistrict, Mueang Tak District, covering an area of 104 sq km (65,000 rai). The park consists mainly of complex mountains with numerous streams converging to form multiple waterfalls, making it rich in biodiversity and ideal for nature tourism and ecological studies. The park was officially established on February 14, 1979 (B.E. 2522).
The forests vary with the terrain, including montane forests, mixed deciduous forests, and pine forests, supporting a high level of biodiversity.
Historical Significance
At the second waterfall tier, there is a horse hoof imprint of King Taksin the Great on a rock, believed to have been left during his second campaign to Chiang Mai. This is a rare historical attraction within the park.
