“Known as the largest waterfall in Central Thailand and within Khao Yai National Park, with a total height of over 150 meters, cascading majestically down a 3-tiered steep cliff.”
Heo Narok Waterfall is a natural wonder located on the southern side of Khao Yai National Park, within Nakhon Nayok province. It is renowned as the tallest and largest waterfall in the park, consisting of three massive tiers, with each tier being at least 50 meters high, resulting in a total drop of approximately 150 meters. The enormous volume of water cascading down the steep cliff creates a roaring sound echoing throughout the valley, leading to its name "Heo Narok," which translates to a chasm or abyss with a sound like hell. The beauty and grandeur of this waterfall are most apparent during the rainy season, when the water volume is at its peak.
Accessing the waterfall requires some effort, including an approximately 1-kilometer walk from the parking area along a paved path. However, this is followed by a section of descending relatively steep stairs to the first-tier viewpoint (about 50 meters). Although challenging, it is well worth the effort to witness the breathtaking view of the water plunging into the abyss below. Heo Narok Waterfall is a destination that attracts those who seek to experience the raw power of nature and witness the splendor of a magnificent waterfall. While swimming is not permitted, it is a place that offers an awe-inspiring experience and a good physical workout.
