The Nakhon Ratchasima Arts and Culture Center is not only a government agency within the university but also an important cultural center of Nakhon Ratchasima Province (Korat). Its primary mission is to preserve, create, and sustainably disseminate cultural heritage and local wisdom.

Main Missions and Roles

1. Preserve and Continue:

• The Center serves as a repository and collection center for the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the southern Isan region, particularly Korat.

• It conducts research and develops a database of knowledge on arts, culture, language (e.g., the Korat language/Korat Thai language), folk music, and various traditions to prevent their loss.

2. Main Learning Center (Nakhon Ratchasima City Museum):

• The main attraction for visitors is the Nakhon Ratchasima City Museum, located on the second floor of Building 10.

• The museum is designed to offer integrated exhibitions, with exhibition rooms divided into various periods and dimensions, including

• Prehistory: Exhibits evidence and stories of humans in the Khorat Basin.

• Dvaravati and Khmer Periods: The Spread of Khmer Civilization and Various Stone Castles

• Ayutthaya and Thonburi Periods: The Role of Korat as an Important Border Town

• Wisdom and Way of Life Room: Displays occupations, handicrafts, livelihood tools, and folk performing arts (such as Korat songs).

• The exhibition emphasizes a modern presentation, suitable for learning by youth and research by academics.

3. Academic Services and Promotion Activities:

• The Office regularly organizes cultural activities, such as workshops on folk handicrafts and folk music/dance performances.

• It serves as a coordination center for local communities, schools, and local administrative organizations to organize various traditional events and festivals.

• In front of Building 10, there is also a cultural plaza, used for arts and traditional activities during special occasions.

• Located in the Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University area (Building 10), accessible by private vehicle and public transportation that passes through the university.

• Check Public/University Holidays: Since the museum is open during official business hours (Monday-Friday) and is located on university grounds, please check the Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University calendar in advance. Special closures may occur during festivals or exam periods.

• Group Visits: If you are traveling in a large group (20 or more people), please call ahead to inform the office staff so they can arrange for a guest speaker or assist with room/space arrangements.

• Dress Code: As this is a government office and cultural learning center, dress appropriately. However, be flexible as you will be exploring the various exhibits.

• Focus on Building 10, Floor 2: The main destination is the Nakhon Ratchasima City Museum, located on the second floor of Building 10, which houses the permanent exhibition area. A thorough tour takes approximately 1.5-2 hours.
