Ho Phra Narai Nakhon Si Thammarat is located on Ratchadamnoen Road, directly opposite Ho Phra Isuan, within the historic quarter of Nakhon Si Thammarat. The shrine is a small Thai-style masonry structure, newly constructed on the original archaeological foundation to serve as a place of worship for an important deity in Brahman–Hindu belief. Historically, this area functioned as a sacred space where religious rituals were performed, reflecting the coexistence of diverse belief systems in ancient Nakhon Si Thammarat.

In the past, a stone-carved statue of Phra Narai was discovered at this site. Scholars consider it to be among the oldest representations of Vishnu found in Thailand. This discovery provides crucial evidence of Indian religious and artistic influence that reached the Thai Peninsula via maritime trade routes, highlighting Nakhon Si Thammarat’s role as a major religious and cultural center of the region in ancient times.

Today, the shrine houses a replica of Phra Narai (Vishnu), the preserver deity in Brahman–Hindu cosmology, symbolizing balance and protection of the universe. Inside the shrine, visitors can also find displays of related artifacts and interpretive information connected to Brahmanical rituals, offering insight into the belief systems that once shaped the spiritual life of the city.

The surroundings of Ho Phra Narai are calm and shaded, making it suitable for quiet exploration and historical learning. The shrine is often mentioned together with Ho Phra Isuan and the Giant Swing, as these sacred structures are located close to one another along Ratchadamnoen Road—an ancient ceremonial and historical route traditionally used for important state rituals and civic events of Nakhon Si Thammarat. Thus, Ho Phra Narai is not merely an archaeological site but a living symbol of faith and the city’s enduring cultural heritage.

• By Private Car: Drive along Ratchadamnoen Road heading south. Ho Phra Narai is located roadside shortly before reaching Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan. Parking is available along the road or in nearby areas.

• By Public Transport: Take a local songthaew on the “Stadium – Hua Thanon” route (white or blue vehicles), which passes directly in front of the shrine throughout the day. Inform the driver that you wish to stop at Ho Phra Narai.

• Park once and explore nearby landmarks on foot, including Ho Phra Narai, Ho Phra Isuan, and the Giant Swing, all located within close proximity

• Afternoon light illuminates the front of the shrine beautifully, making it ideal for photography

• Dress modestly and behave respectfully, as the site remains an active sacred space
