“A dragon-shaped central island featuring a towering giant dragon statue that reflects Pak Nam Pho’s identity, combined with standard jogging and cycling lanes in a peaceful and shady lakeside atmosphere”
Uthayan Sawan Park was originally a large natural swamp known locally as “Nong Sombun.” It was later developed into a nationally recognized public park and has received awards for its cleanliness, greenery, and excellent landscape management.
The park’s most iconic feature is the Heavenly Dragon (Mangkon Sawan) located on a dragon-shaped island at the center of the lake. The giant dragon statue, designed with elegance and power, symbolizes the strong Chinese cultural influence of Nakhon Sawan. Surrounding the lake are Chinese-style architectural elements, including decorative gateways and traditional pavilions that reflect the city’s historical roots.
The park offers a 3.2-kilometer jogging and cycling track circling the lake, along with a fountain plaza, children’s playgrounds, multipurpose sports courts, and popular recreational activities such as pedal boat rides across the water.
In the late afternoon and evening, Uthayan Sawan Park becomes a lively gathering place where people of all ages enjoy outdoor activities together. The cool breeze from the expansive lake and the illuminated dragon statue create a relaxing atmosphere that blends traditional community life with a modern urban lifestyle.
