Kaeng Lamduan Waterfall is located within Huai Sala Wildlife Sanctuary, Trakan Phuet Phon District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, approximately 90 kilometers from the city center. This waterfall is naturally beautiful and ecologically important. The water flows over large rocks, cascading down various rock layers to form several clear pools, making it safe for swimming in certain seasons.

The surrounding area consists of dry evergreen and mixed deciduous forest with many native trees, such as Takhian, Pterocarpus, and Rosewood, along with flowering trees like forest Pterocarpus and Golden Shower flowers that bloom seasonally. It is also home to small wildlife, including hornbills, woodpeckers, monkeys, squirrels, and native aquatic species.

The waterfall is at its fullest during the rainy season (July–October), when the water flows strongly, creating a beautiful mist over the rocks. During the dry season, water levels decrease, revealing rock layers and wide boulders eroded over hundreds of years, a unique geological feature.

Historically, the waterfall has been closely tied to local communities. Villagers used the water for agriculture and passed down legends about the name “Kaeng Lamduan,” derived from the Lamduan flowers that once thrived here, filling the air with fragrance during bloom.

Visitors can enjoy swimming, relaxing in nature, and walking along conservation trails (1–2 km) to explore local plants, wildlife, and riverside ecosystems. There are also small viewpoints offering scenic views of the river and rocks.

Today, Kaeng Lamduan Waterfall is a key natural tourist attraction in Ubon Ratchathani, with campaigns encouraging visitors to maintain cleanliness, avoid littering, and respect wildlife sanctuary rules to preserve its natural beauty.
