“Worship the world's largest brass Buddha statue, beautifully set inside a spacious, serene waterfront park by the Pa Sak River.”

Phetchabura Buddhist Park is a significant Buddhist center and cultural tourist attraction in Phetchabun Province. It was built to commemorate the 84th birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The concept for its construction arose from the collaborative efforts of the people of Phetchabun, government agencies, the private sector, and numerous Buddhists who desired to create a grand Buddhist memorial that would serve as a spiritual center for the province and a lasting symbol of Buddhist faith in Phetchabun.

The heart of this Buddhist park is the "Phra Phuttha Maha Thammaracha Chalerm Phra Kiat," a large Buddha statue modeled after the sacred "Phra Phuttha Maha Thammaracha," the revered Buddha image of Phetchabun located at Wat Traiphumi in the city. The original statue is a Lopburi-style Buddha in the meditation posture, adorned with ancient royal attire, and is notable for its distinctive face, ears, and exquisite clothing. It has been deeply revered by the people of Phetchabun for a long time. It is believed to be a Buddha image that protects the city and brings peace and tranquility.

The Phra Phuttha Maha Thammaracha Chalerm Phra Kiat statue within the Buddha Park is made of brass and measures approximately 11.984 meters in width_ at the base and 16.589 meters in height_, with a total height_ from the base of about 35 meters. The dimensions of the base are designed with symbolic meaning related to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) and the occasion of his 84th birthday. The statue is meticulously designed to retain the unique characteristics of the original Phra Phuttha Maha Thammaracha, including the details of the face, attire, and Buddhist features in the Lopburi style, making it a large Buddha image of great beauty and artistic value.

The surrounding area of the Buddha Park is designed as both a religious site and a public park. Inside, there is a large ceremonial area, a viewing bridge, rest pavilions, and shady green spaces, ideal for relaxation, meditation, or enjoying the scenery in a peaceful atmosphere. Behind the statue is a large pond connected to the original watershed of the Pa Sak River, which enhances the overall beauty of the landscape. Especially during the morning and evening, when the sunlight reflects off the golden Buddha image, the atmosphere becomes even more majestic and sacred.

Phetchabura Buddhist Park is also connected to the "Um Phra Dam Nam" (carrying the Buddha image into the water) tradition, an ancient and famous tradition of Phetchabun province, held annually on the 15th waning moon of the 10th lunar month. The actual Phra Phuttha Maha Thammaracha Buddha image is carried from Wat Traiphumi to be immersed in the Pa Sak River, according to beliefs passed down for hundreds of years. This tradition is considered an important cultural identity of the province and makes Phra Phuttha Maha Thammaracha a true center of faith for the people of Phetchabun.

Today, Phetchabura Buddhist Park is not only a place for worship but also a major tourist landmark in Phetchabun province. Many tourists visit to admire the architecture, photograph the large Buddha image, relax amidst nature, and participate in religious activities on important days throughout the year, especially during Songkran and other important Buddhist holidays when grand water-pouring ceremonies and cultural activities are held. This makes the place a spiritual center, a cultural learning center, and an important recreational spot in Phetchabun.
