“Crescent-shaped bay featuring powdery white sand and emerald waters. It serves as the main transport hub and vibrant tourism center connected to the lively Walking Street.”

Pattaya Beach Koh Lipe, locally known as "Bundhaya Beach," is the most strategically and geographically significant coastline on Koh Lipe. Situated on the southern tip of the island, it features a majestic 1.5-kilometer horseshoe-shaped bay protected from strong monsoon winds during the high season. The beach is world-renowned for its exceptionally fine, powdery white sand, a natural result of decomposed coral and seashells accumulated over centuries. The crystalline turquoise waters offer high visibility, allowing visitors to see small schools of fish and underwater rock formations directly from the shore. Because of its calm waters and natural shelter, it serves as the primary gateway for speedboats arriving from Pak Bara Pier and international ferries from Langkawi, Malaysia, making it the island's central transportation hub.

Ecologically and geologically, Pattaya Beach is a vital part of the Tarutao National Marine Park, an area celebrated for its immense marine biodiversity. While the central part of the beach is bustling with boat traffic, the eastern and western ends of the bay harbor resilient shallow-water coral reefs. Snorkelers can easily find massive porites corals and staghorn corals just a few meters from the shoreline. Beyond its natural splendor, the beach is the heartbeat of Koh Lipe’s modern lifestyle. It marks the entrance to the famous "Koh Lipe Walking Street," a vibrant corridor that cuts through the island to Sunrise Beach. Consequently, the beachfront is a sophisticated blend of luxury resorts, fresh seafood establishments, beach bars, and world-class PADI dive centers catering to global adventurers.

Another defining characteristic of Pattaya Beach is its breathtaking twilight scenery. While the neighboring Sunset Beach is the primary spot for dusk, the reflective glow of the evening sky against Pattaya’s curved bay provides a uniquely romantic and tranquil atmosphere. As night falls, the beach transitions into a stage for contemporary island culture, highlighted by iconic fire-spinning performances that have become a signature of the Koh Lipe experience. In recent years, local management and environmental groups have implemented stricter eco-tourism policies, focusing on plastic reduction and reef-safe practices to ensure that the "Maldives of Thailand" remains a pristine destination for future generations of travelers.

How to Get There
  • Take a speedboat from Pak Bara Pier in Satun province to Koh Lipe (approx. 1.5 - 2 hours). Boats usually drop passengers at a floating platform in front of Pattaya Beach, followed by a short long-tail boat ride to the shore.

Travel Tips
  • Visit in the late afternoon for a more pleasant atmosphere and the best lighting for photos
  • For a quieter experience, walk toward the western end of the beach away from the Walking Street area
  • Bring enough cash, as ATMs on the island are limited and may charge high fees
  • Book accommodations in advance during high season (November–April), as the island gets very busy

Admission Fees:

  • National Park entry fee: 40 THB for Thais, 200 THB for foreigners; keep your ticket as it is valid for all islands in the Tarutao National Park

Opening Hours:

  • Open 24 hours a day, every day (the best time to visit is November – May).
