Saoroi Ton Temple was founded by Luang Por Uttama, who once resided here. The temple’s architecture reflects Mon cultural influences, most notably through its 105 whole teak pillars arranged around the compound, creating a striking and sacred environment. Inside, visitors will find exquisite Burmese-style marble Buddha statues and an impressive collection of over 500 alms bowl statues.
The ubosot is a unique two-story building located in the middle of the forest and hills, offering a serene, raw, and quiet atmosphere ideal for meditation and retreat. The abbot, a Mon monk, sits by the window on the upper floor and often distributes traditional prayer bead necklaces (sroi pakam) to those making donations.
Around the temple grounds, visitors can also browse and purchase affordable Myanmar-made handicrafts and souvenirs.
