“A riverside park for relaxation, exercise, and seasonal water activities, especially lively during the Songkran Festival, offering a vibrant cultural and recreational experience.”
Koh Klang Mae Nam Ping, locally known as Koh Klang Rim Ping, is a key relaxation area in Kamphaeng Phet province. The park was established to honor Her Majesty the Queen on the occasion of her 5th cycle birthday in 1992 (2535 BE). The project included landscape improvements, public utility installations, and ornamental planting to provide a fully functional public space.
Located opposite Sirichit Park, the park serves as a multi-purpose riverside public space, featuring gardens, resting pavilions, playgrounds, fitness zones, Thai cultural areas, and occasionally a night bazaar. It is ideal for families, fitness enthusiasts, and visitors seeking a natural retreat within the city.
The park has a pedestrian bridge connecting it to the city, making access easy and convenient. Visitors can enjoy walking, cycling, or jogging around the park, as well as riverside viewpoints for photography and sunset watching.
During the dry season (March–May), the water level of the Ping River drops, exposing sandy areas where people can relax on mats, enjoy food stalls, and participate in water-based activities, making this the busiest and most festive time of the year. The park also features traditional Thai cultural demonstrations for visitors to experience.
Koh Klang Mae Nam Ping is a prime location for the Songkran Festival, featuring activities such as water fights, Muay Talay (sea boxing), foam parties, and traditional games, attracting tourists from both within and outside the province. It is a cultural and recreational hub for Kamphaeng Phet residents.
All year round, the park provides space for picnics, group activities, or nature walks along the riverside, making it a perfect blend of nature, culture, and wellness activities in Kamphaeng Phet city.
