“A uniquely calm and beautiful beach, accessible only by boat or on foot, and serving as the ascent point to Phraya Nakhon Cave, where the sacred royal pavilion, Khuha Kharuehat, is enshrined.”
Laem Sala Beach is located within the Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park and is considered a beach of exceptional beauty and significance due to its limited access. Visitors can choose to travel by long-tail boat from Ban Bang Pu village or hike over a hill for about 500 meters. This challenging access ensures that Laem Sala Beach maintains its complete tranquility and natural state. The beach is a small cove with fine white sand and relatively clear, clean seawater.
The most important unique feature of Laem Sala Beach is its role as the starting point for the trek up to Phraya Nakhon Cave, the most famous large cave in Thailand, known for the Khuha Kharuehat Royal Pavilion built during the reign of King Rama V for his visit. The beach thus possesses both natural beauty and historical importance. The beach is flanked by steep limestone mountains, creating a spectacular and distinctive landscape.
The main activities at Laem Sala Beach are relaxing on the shore and ascending to Phraya Nakhon Cave. The climb to the cave usually begins in the early morning to avoid the heat and to catch the sun's rays illuminating the royal pavilion inside the cave. The atmosphere at Laem Sala Beach is very quiet and private. There are tourist service points and small restaurants managed by the park. The boat trip to the beach also offers an interesting experience of viewing the mountains from the sea.
Laem Sala Beach is highly suitable for adventurous travelers and those seeking spiritual peace, given the proximity of the sacred cave. Landscape photographers will be captivated by the views of the limestone mountains embracing the cove. Couples can use this as a romantic, uncrowded spot for a private retreat.
We invite everyone to experience the mysterious and historically rich beauty of Laem Sala Beach, the gateway to the wonder of Phraya Nakhon Cave in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park.
