“A sulfur-free natural hot spring with a stable temperature of around 60°C, featuring foot soaking pools, private bathing rooms, and the famous “Elephant Pool,” known for its high-quality mineral water.”

Huai Nam Nak Hot Spring is one of the most notable health-oriented tourist attractions in Tak Province. Located within the Mae Sot National Reserved Forest in Phop Phra District, this natural hot spring emerges directly from underground sources amid a peaceful mountainous and forested environment, making it an ideal place for relaxation and physical rejuvenation.

The hot spring is distinguished by its clear mineral water with no sulfur odor, unlike many other hot springs. The water temperature at its source is approximately 60 degrees Celsius, and it is carefully adjusted at each bathing point to ensure comfort and safety. According to records from Pha Charoen Waterfall National Park, the mineral water here contains beneficial minerals believed to help relieve joint pain, muscle aches, improve blood circulation, and support vascular health.

Huai Nam Nak Hot Spring consists of three main pools. The first pool is located at the front of the site and serves as the primary bathing area for visitors. The second pool lies further inside and is the smallest. The third and largest pool, locally known as the “Elephant Pool,” is situated on a hill approximately 100 meters higher than the first pool and requires a hike of about 2.5 kilometers along a natural trail. Due to its exceptionally high-quality mineral water, this pool is also used, under official supervision, as a source for bottled mineral water production.

Thanks to its natural potential and unique mineral properties, Huai Nam Nak Hot Spring has been continuously developed into a key attraction in Phop Phra District. Today, it offers facilities designed in the style of a “Tak Onsen,” including outdoor foot soaking pools set in landscaped gardens and private hot spring rooms for individuals and families, all maintained with cleanliness and privacy in mind.

The official relaunch of Huai Nam Nak Hot Spring took place on November 15, 2014, through a collaboration between Tak Province, Phop Phra District, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (Tak Office), Pha Charoen Waterfall National Park, Phop Phra Subdistrict Administrative Organization, and other related agencies, elevating the site into a prominent health and wellness destination in Tak Province.
