Ho Chi Minh's House, also known as the Thai-Vietnamese Friendship Village, is located in Ban Na Chok, Nakhon Phanom. This site holds immense significance in world political history, as it served as the residence of President Ho Chi Minh, the revolutionary leader who fought for Vietnam's independence. Between 1923 and 1929, Uncle Ho lived here in political exile, using this quiet location to strategically plan the national liberation movement and unify the Vietnamese diaspora in Indochina for the struggle against French colonial rule.

The highlight of this landmark is the preservation of the original wooden house in its near-perfect state. Inside, visitors can observe the simple lifestyle of Uncle Ho through displayed artifacts such as his wooden work desk, bed, and various authentic household utensils. The surrounding area still features coconut and starfruit trees descended from those planted during his stay, symbolizing his humble way of life and his seamless integration into the local Nakhon Phanom community. His time here built a strong rapport with the Thai people, forming the bedrock of the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations that persists today.

Beyond the historical residence, the site now includes the Thai-Vietnamese Friendship Memorial Exhibition Center, a grand facility established through cooperation between the Thai and Vietnamese governments. Inside, modern exhibits chronicle Ho Chi Minh’s journey from his youth to the declaration of independence, featuring rare historical photographs and archives. This site serves not only as a historical educational resource but also as a powerful symbol of friendship, illustrating the hospitality and support Thailand extended to a neighboring hero during his time of greatest need.

• From Nakhon Phanom city, take Highway 22 (towards Sakon Nakhon). Drive approximately 4-5 kilometers, and you will see a sign indicating the entrance to Na Chok Village (Thai-Vietnamese Friendship Village). Turn into the soi (lane) and follow the signs for about 2 kilometers to reach your destination.

• Please dress respectfully to honor the historical site, which is a national historical landmark.

• Group visits should be arranged in advance if a guide is desired for a deeper historical understanding.

• Don't miss the walk to see the starfruit and coconut trees behind the original residence, historically planted by Ho Chi Minh himself.

• Nha Gioc Village has several authentic Vietnamese restaurants. We recommend trying the Nem Nuong (grilled pork skewers) and Moo Yor (Vietnamese pork sausage), unique recipes of the Thai-Vietnamese community here.

• For a peaceful and uncrowded atmosphere with photos of the wooden houses, arrive before 10:00 AM.

• Have a map app ready, as the village entrance may be via side streets, but brown signs indicating the tourist attractions are placed periodically.
