“A beautiful limestone waterfall cascading over natural rock steps, approximately 10 meters wide and 50 meters long, famous for its soft white mist that looks like “floating clouds” amid a lush forest and tranquil atmosphere.”
Se Pla Waterfall is a medium-sized natural waterfall located in Ban Se Pla, near Ban Palatha in Umphang District, Tak Province. It remains unspoiled and quiet, making it an ideal stop for travelers who want to experience nature in its pure form and escape the crowds found at larger waterfalls such as Thi Lo Su.
Formed from limestone mountains, the water flows smoothly over layered rock surfaces rather than plunging straight down. This creates a gentle cascade where the light-colored limestone contrasts beautifully with the clear flowing water. The waterfall is approximately 10 meters wide and extends about 50 meters along the stream.
The most distinctive feature of Se Pla Waterfall is the “white cloud” phenomenon. When the water flows strongly and strikes the limestone rocks, it creates fine bubbles and white mist that spread across the area. The result looks like soft clouds floating over the stone surface, a rare and captivating sight that makes the waterfall especially appealing for nature photography.
Surrounded by dense green forest, the area is enriched with moss and ferns growing along the rocks and stream banks, adding freshness and a calming atmosphere. The peaceful sound of flowing water and the natural surroundings make Se Pla Waterfall perfect for relaxing, landscape photography, or simply enjoying a quiet moment in nature.
