“A small reservoir at the foothills of Phu Chom Sri within Phu Pha Thoep National Park, featuring a peaceful atmosphere, camping areas, and a lakeside café.”

Huai Sing Reservoir is a small natural reservoir formed by the flow of Huai Sing Stream, originating from the Phu Chom Sri mountain range within Phu Pha Thoep National Park. The area is characterized by a water basin surrounded by sandstone mountains and a mix of dry dipterocarp and mixed deciduous forests, creating a diverse landscape of water, forest, and mountains in one harmonious setting. The surrounding environment is quiet and natural. Water levels vary significantly by season—during the rainy season, the reservoir is full and the surrounding greenery appears lush and vibrant, while in the dry season the water recedes, revealing shorelines and rock formations that change the scenery throughout the year. This makes it a destination that can be visited year-round with different atmospheres in each season.

The area remains largely natural, with forest cover that provides shade and helps keep temperatures cooler than in urban areas. It is also home to small wildlife and various bird species, along with native vegetation such as teak, shorea, and other local trees typical of northeastern Thailand’s dry forest ecosystem. In terms of tourism, Huai Sing Reservoir has become increasingly popular among nature lovers and camping enthusiasts. The lakeside area is suitable for camping and relaxation, with scenic mountain views. At times, there are facilities such as the “Huai Sing In Love Camping Café,” offering food, drinks, and lakeside seating and camping spaces.

Popular activities include camping, picnicking, photography of sunrise and sunset views, and water activities such as kayaking and SUP boarding when water levels are suitable. The evening atmosphere is especially beautiful as sunlight reflects on the water surface and mountains, creating a romantic scenery.During the winter season (approximately November to February), the area is at its busiest due to cool weather ideal for camping. At night, the low light pollution allows for clear stargazing.

However, since part of the area is under national park supervision, visitors should follow regulations strictly, avoid littering, and take safety precautions. During the rainy season, paths may become slippery and water levels may rise, so essential items such as flashlights, mosquito repellent, and rain gear are recommended for overnight stays.Overall, Huai Sing Reservoir is a destination that combines tranquility, natural beauty, and light adventure activities, making it ideal for both short visits and camping experiences close to nature.
