Tad Hong Waterfall is one of the largest and most impressive waterfalls in Loei province. It is located at the lower part of the mountain (northwest side of the foothills) and not on the summit like other waterfalls in Phu Kradueng. Its water comes from the Lam Phong River, which collects water from the highland areas of Phu Kradueng and cascades down the steep valley. The waterfall has 3–5 tiers, with a total height_ of approximately 50–70 meters.

The waterfall is renowned for its strong, continuous flow, producing a resonant echo throughout the surrounding forest and valley. Below the waterfall, large natural rock slabs form pockets and cavities, creating a unique setting for photography and close observation of the local ecosystem.

The name "Tad Hong" (or Tad Rong) comes from the local word “Hong,” meaning the echoing or “singing” sound of the falling water. Visitors often remark that the waterfall seems to “sing” as the water strikes the rocks below.

Historically, the trail to Tad Hong was used as a covert route by the Free Thai movement during World War II for transporting supplies and evading enemy patrols. Today, the route has been developed into an adventurous and historical trekking trail called "Following the Free Thai Path at Tad Hong," offering visitors both natural beauty and historical insight.

Visitors will experience the dense evergreen forest surrounding the waterfall, complete with large trees, birds, and small wildlife. The waterfall plays an important role in the local ecosystem of the Lam Phong River, making it a fascinating site for nature enthusiasts.

Access to Tad Hong requires good physical fitness and caution, as parts of the trail traverse steep and deep forest terrain. Park rangers provide guides to ensure safe and enjoyable exploration. Visitors are advised to wear proper footwear, carry sufficient drinking water, and bring light snacks for the several-hour trek.

The waterfall is ideal for photography, capturing both the cascading multi-tiered water and the surrounding lush forest. During the rainy season, the waterfall is at its most powerful and spectacular, though caution is needed due to slippery and muddy trails.
