“Kaeo Komon Cave is filled with pure calcite crystals, featuring safe walkways and concrete stairs for visitors. ”
Kaeo Komon Cave Forest Park was discovered by a mining engineer inspecting a private mining concession in 1993. He entered a cave under the mountain and found beautiful, pure calcite crystals inside. Later, the Department of Mineral Resources improved the cave entrance for tourism by widening the opening, reinforcing the ceiling with cement and steel, building concrete walkways and stairs, installing lighting, and setting up a ventilation system in harmony with the natural environment. The Kaeo Komon Cave area was established as Kaeo Komon Cave Forest Park in 1995 and is under the management of the Department of National Parks.
