Asahiyama Zoo is located at the eastern foothills of Asahikawa City, Hokkaido, about 20 kilometers from the city center. • Take bus lines 41, 42, or 47 from JR Asahikawa Station; travel time about 40 minutes, fare 440 yen. Buses run approximately twice per hour.

• The Fun Fun Bus from JR Asahikawa Station takes about 55 minutes, runs once per hour. A Day Pass costs 800 yen and offers great value.

• A combined bus and zoo admission ticket is available for 1,500 yen (only during July to September). 

• Visit in winter to see the magical penguin parade.

• Purchase a Day Pass for convenient and economical bus travel to and from the zoo.

• Wear comfortable shoes and dress warmly during colder months.

• Plan at least half a day to explore the zoo fully.
