Cape Soya  Situated at 45 degrees, 31 minutes, 22 seconds this northernmost point in Japan has a monument designed in the motif of the North Star. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, visitors get  a strong sense that they are at the country's northern end.

A stone monument of triangular pyramid shape on the cape reads "The monument at the northern end of Japan" the place where many tourists visit has various monuments including a bronze statue.
