“A small natural waterfall cascading down rock formations amidst a lush tropical rainforest. It is a peaceful relaxation spot located near the Thai-Cambodian border trade relief point.”

Tha Sen Waterfall is a natural attraction hidden in the Laem Klat Subdistrict. The waterfall originates from the Banthat Mountain Range, which serves as a natural border between Thailand and Cambodia. Although it is a small waterfall, it possesses a unique beauty, especially the water that cascades down layers of limestone and natural rocks covered in green moss. In the past, this area held great significance as a border zone and was the site of the Thai Red Cross Society Center at Khao Lan. Today, Tha Sen Waterfall has become a stopover for travelers seeking greenery and an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The general characteristics of Tha Sen Waterfall consist of several low tiers, each with a small, clear, and cool pool perfect for a refreshing swim to beat the heat. The surrounding environment is enclosed by various types of dense forest plants, providing shade across the area even on sunny days. The sound of the waterfall hitting the rocks, blended with the songs of birds, creates a wonderful sense of relaxation for visitors. The area around the waterfall is organized simply to preserve as much of its natural state as possible, allowing visitors to feel like they are intimately experiencing the original forest.

In addition to the beauty of the waterfall itself, the Tha Sen Village area is historically significant and important for border trade due to its proximity to the Ban Tha Sen trade relief point. Tourists can learn about the way of life of villagers in the border zone who live harmoniously with nature. The relationship between the community and the conservation of this waterfall is mutually beneficial, ensuring the water remains clean and the ecosystem stays fertile. Visiting here is not just about going to a waterfall; it is about studying biodiversity and the history of coexistence in the border frontier area.

For nature photographers and camping enthusiasts, Tha Sen Waterfall offers beautiful perspectives of water flowing over rocks at a perfect pace. Sunlight filtering through large leaves and hitting the water's surface creates excellent dimensions for photography. For families bringing children for a vacation, the waterfall area is safe because the current is not too strong, and there are bank areas suitable for sitting down for a picnic and enjoying a meal together amidst the cool breeze from the mountains. It is a great way to create good memories together on a holiday.

We invite all travelers visiting Trat Province to come and experience the peace at Tha Sen Waterfall. Although it may not offer luxury facilities, the simplicity and purity of nature will surely recharge your body and mind. Sitting and watching the water flow while breathing the fresh air from the Banthat Mountains will make you fall in love with the charm of Trat from a different perspective. Tha Sen Waterfall is ready to welcome all visitors with freshness and the friendship of the Laem Klat people all year round.

How to Get There
  • Private Car: From Trat city, take Highway 3 (Sukhumvit) towards Khlong Yai District. At the Khao Lan junction, turn left onto Highway 3159. Drive straight until you reach Tha Sen Village; there will be signs directing you to the waterfall.

  • Public Transport: You can take a blue minibus on the Trat-Khlong Yai route and ask to be dropped off at the entrance to Ban Tha Sen. From there, you may need to hire a local transport service to reach the waterfall, which is some distance from the main road.

Travel Tips
  • Recommended Time: From June to October is the period with the most water and the greenest forest. During the dry season, the water may be less than usual.

  • Preparation: Bring a change of clothes if you wish to swim, and wear shoes with good grip as the rocks around the waterfall can be slippery with moss.

  • Preservation: Help keep the area clean. Do not leave plastic bags or water bottles at the waterfall to protect the border environment.

  • Safety: Due to its proximity to the border, please strictly follow warning signs and instructions from local officials.

  • Food: It is recommended to bring your own food and drinking water, as there may not be many shops available at the waterfall.
