Ao Krathing Located within the Khao Laem Sing National Forest Park, this is a small, beautiful, and peaceful beach, approximately 1 kilometer long. It boasts stunning natural beauty, with about 300 meters of sandy beach, making it perfect for tourism, relaxation, and swimming in the sea for those who love nature and privacy. Behind the beach are hills opposite Laem Sing. This bay almost feels like a private beach. It is only 1 kilometer from Laem Sing Bridge. The name 'Ao Krating' originated because this area is full of trees called Kra Thung. Locals originally called it Ao Kra Thung, but over time, the pronunciation evolved into 'Ao Krating,' which is the name used today.
A key feature of this bay is that it is an authorized location for overnight tent camping, with basic National Park facilities provided. This allows tourists to fully experience sleeping under the stars by the sea. Furthermore, due to its rich natural environment, the area around the bay and its rock formations is an excellent spot for snorkeling or kayaking, offering a chance to witness the diverse marine life of Chanthaburi's sea.
How to Get There

Private Car: Travel towards Chanthaburi city, then head towards Laem Sing District via Highway 3 (Sukhumvit), and turn onto Highway 3399 to reach the entrance of Khao Laem Sing National Park. Ao Krathing is located inside the National Park area.

Public Transport: Take a passenger van from Bangkok (Ekkamai or Mo Chit Bus Terminals) to the Chanthaburi Bus Terminal. From there, you will need to take a local songthaew (shared taxi) or a taxi to Laem Sing District and then charter a ride to the National Park, as public transport within the park area is limited.
Travel Tips
- Best Season: The ideal time to visit is between November and April, which is the clearest and sunniest period. During the rainy season (May-October), there may be strong waves and heavy rainfall.
- Footwear and Equipment: You should prepare suitable shoes for light hiking/climbing if you plan to visit the viewpoints within the park area. Also, remember to bring your own snorkeling gear if you wish to explore the coral.
- Food and Culture: There are small restaurants and shops within the National Park, but they are limited. It is advisable to bring dry food or snacks. Please take all your trash back to preserve the marine environment.
