King Mongkut Memorial Park of Science and Technology The park was established to honor King Mongkut (Rama IV), who once traveled to this very site specifically to observe a total solar eclipse.

• Historical Significance: Throughout its history, this location has developed into a scientific learning hub, offering deep insights into astronomy, environmental science, and technology. The King is honored as the "Father of Thai Science" for his precise calculation of this significant event, which marked a milestone in the use of modern scientific principles in Thailand.

• Inside the Park: There are exhibition buildings covering basic science, space technology, and astronomy. These feature a functional Observatory for skywatching, as well as a Planetarium for learning about planets and constellations. Students and visitors can explore real scientific instruments and gain knowledge about celestial phenomena.

• The Aquarium: The displays cover various aquatic ecosystems (both marine and freshwater). It features a Tunnel Aquarium that realistically simulates the underwater atmosphere, along with Interactive Displays that explain water ecology, biodiversity, and environmental conservation.

• Scientific Heritage: The park still preserves ancient stone platforms (inscribed steles) that were used by early scientists as reference points and for experiments, thus safeguarding a long legacy of scientific inquiry in Thailand. Additionally, the lodging quarters used by the French astronomical delegation who came to witness the event are also on display.

• Activities and Services: The park is a major educational tourist attraction. It organizes science camps for youth and provides convenience services such as shops and restaurants for visitors.

• Drive from Prachuap Khiri Khan town toward Khlong Wan, using either the coastal road or main highway. Turn into the access road around kilometer marker 335–336, then follow the road for about 3-4 km to reach the science park.

• Best visited in the morning for cooler temperatures and good lighting

• For stargazing, come on clear nights without clouds

• Bring water and comfortable shoes if you plan to walk around multiple areas

• Check in advance for science camps or special events if visiting with children or students
