“A natural waterfall located in a tropical rainforest, boasting 15 tiers and being one of Thailand's best locations for viewing colorful butterflies, especially during the rainy season.”

Pa La-U Waterfall is located within the area of Kaeng Krachan National Park, situated in the northwest of Hua Hin district, approximately 60 kilometers from Hua Hin town center. Although the journey takes some time, it is well worth the visit as the waterfall maintains the richness and natural integrity of its tropical rainforest environment. The stream originates from a complex mountain range along the Thai-Myanmar border. It is an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventurers seeking to hike, explore the jungle, and swim in the cool waters.

The distinctive feature of Pa La-U Waterfall is its water cascading down 15 distinct tiers over rocks. Tourists can usually hike up to the 7th–9th tiers, where there are safe pools for swimming. Reaching the higher tiers requires specialized trekking skills. The surrounding forest is a tropical rainforest with high biodiversity, making it possible to spot rare wildlife, such as various bird species. Most importantly, it is a gathering site for numerous butterfly species that feed along the rocks and stream banks, particularly from the rainy season to the beginning of winter, creating a spectacular natural display.

The best time to visit Pa La-U Waterfall is during the rainy season (May–October), when water flow is at its peak and butterflies are most abundant. The overall atmosphere is shady, moist, and pleasantly cool throughout the day. Visitors will experience slightly challenging jungle trekking, especially when climbing to the higher tiers. The main activities are nature hiking, butterfly watching, and swimming in the safe water pools. The park provides staff for safety and guidance. It is recommended to arrive well before closing time to allow sufficient time for exploring the waterfall.

Pa La-U Waterfall is a paradise for nature photographers and butterfly watchers, offering beautiful scenery of the cascades, forest, and hundreds of butterflies to capture. Those who enjoy adventure and exercise will appreciate the physical challenge of hiking and climbing to the higher tiers. As the waterfall is within a National Park, rules and regulations regarding cleanliness and conservation are strictly enforced. Visitors should check water levels and forest conditions before traveling, especially during periods of heavy rain.

We invite you to experience the pristine beauty of Pa La-U Waterfall in Hua Hin, a vibrant tropical rainforest retreat where you can enjoy hundreds of butterflies in a refreshing atmosphere year-round.
