“Clear water and a beautiful curved beach Iconic view of Khao Ta Mong Lai Safe and well-maintained military area Close to major Prachuap sightseeing spots”
Ao Manao is located inside Wing 5 Air Force Base and is considered one of the most picturesque beaches in Prachuap Khiri Khan. Its clear water, soft sand, and peaceful atmosphere make it ideal for visitors who want to relax, walk along the shore, or enjoy scenic photography throughout the day. The highlight of Ao Manao is the stunning view of Khao Ta Mong Lai, a mountain rising near the shoreline. This creates a uniquely beautiful landscape that attracts many photographers, especially during sunrise and late afternoon.
Facilities and Activities
The surrounding area is well-maintained by Wing 5, ensuring cleanliness and order. In addition to small shops and restaurants offering snacks and refreshments, the base provides bicycle rentals for cycling around the airbase perimeter and rental services for kayaks/canoes for non-motorized water activities. Shaded seating areas along the beach provide comfortable resting spots. Furthermore, the Air Force often operates affordable guesthouses/bungalows near the beach for tourist accommodation.
Safety and Connections
Ao Manao is especially suitable for families and travelers seeking tranquility, and the area is considered very safe due to military supervision. The airbase also features unique points of interest, such as static displays of older Royal Thai Air Force aircraft near the entrance.
