Built on the historic site of the Dōjunkai Aoyama Apartments — one of Tokyo’s first modern residential buildings — its 2006 redevelopment became a landmark event in Japan’s architectural evolution. The new design pays tribute to its legacy by integrating history and innovation.

Stretching approximately 250 meters along Omotesando Avenue, the building appears as an organic extension of the street itself. Inside, a continuous sloping walkway replaces conventional escalators, allowing visitors to explore each level smoothly and intuitively.

The complex houses luxury international and Japanese designer boutiques, fine jewelry brands, and sophisticated lifestyle stores, complemented by chic cafes and elegant restaurants — a serene, stylish haven for lovers of art, design, and fashion.


How to Get There
  • Subway: Direct access from Omotesando Station (Tokyo Metro Chiyoda, Ginza, and Hanzōmon Lines).

  • JR Lines: A short walk from Harajuku Station (JR Yamanote Line) or Meiji-jingūmae ‘Harajuku’ Station (Tokyo Metro Chiyoda and Fukutoshin Lines).

  • Visit in the afternoon or early evening to admire the play of light on Ando’s exposed concrete.
